God is calling His Church to care for the orphan

Together, we can answer His call with compassion and unity.

Orphan Sunday® Zambia unites the body of Christ to care for orphans and vulnerable children in our communities.

We believe that when God sets the lonely in families, he desires to place them in His family—the Church.

As the Church in Zambia, we have the privilege and responsibility to reflect our Father’s heart by loving and caring for the orphan.

Practical Ministry to Orphans

When the Church opens its heart to orphans, lives are transformed. These are just some of the ways churches across Zambia are showing Christ's love to vulnerable children through prayer, practical support, and the power of the Gospel.

Welcome to the Movement

Whether you joined us at the Orphan Sunday® Homecoming event or simply want to learn how to make a difference, welcome! God is raising up churches across Zambia to care for orphans and vulnerable children.

Caring for Orphans in Zambia

Identify and pray weekly for every orphan and caregiver in your church by name. “You hear, Lord, the desire of the afflicted; You encourage them and listen to their cry.” — Psalm 10:17
Start a dedicated offering to support orphans and caregivers in your community. Even small gifts make a big difference. “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord.” — Proverbs 19:17
Make vulnerable children feel seen and valued by celebrating their birthdays. “Let the little children come to Me… for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” — Matthew 19:14
Invite orphaned children to youth groups, choir, and holiday programs. “God sets the lonely in families.” — Psalm 68:6
Help guardians and widows raising children with food packs, school fees, or visits. “Pure religion is to look after orphans and widows in their distress.” — James 1:27

God Commands Us to Care

The Bible is clear: caring for orphans is not optional—it's central to true faith. "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress" (James 1:27). When we obey this command, we honor God and reveal His heart to the world.
